We promote a <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">liaison that facilitates the emerging artist\u2019s transformation and polishes their skills in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Muralismo y Graffiti \/ Muralism and Graffiti<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 8pt;\">Sof\u00eda Maldonado, Traducci\u00f3n \/ Translation: Irma Arzola<\/span><\/p>\n<p>La artista Sof\u00eda Maldonado cre\u00f3 este taller virtual para el desarrollo de una propuesta de mural en la Sala de Exposiciones del Plata. El taller dur\u00f3 tres semanas con contacto visual dos veces en semana dividido en 6 clases de contacto. La profesora trabaj\u00f3 20 horas, lo cual incluy\u00f3 tiempo sin contacto donde se realizaron evaluaciones y correcciones de los textos preparados por el estudiante. El tiempo de contacto con el estudiante fue de dos clases por semana, cada una de una hora. Incluy\u00f3 una introducci\u00f3n a la historia del muralismo, el desarrollo de conceptos, y la preparaci\u00f3n del curr\u00edculum vitae y la declaraci\u00f3n del artista. <br>El estudiante aprendi\u00f3 a redactar una propuesta de mural y recibi\u00f3 una evaluaci\u00f3n de portafolio.<\/p>\n<p>Johse Salgado Zabaleta es un j\u00f3ven artista puertorrique\u00f1o nacido en Bayam\u00f3n, pero reside en el pueblo de Dorado donde curs\u00f3 su primera clase de arte con la artista Myrna B\u00e1ez. Hoy d\u00eda muestra gran talento por las artes visuales: escultura, dibujo, pintura, actuaci\u00f3n, baile, dise\u00f1o, entre otros. Proviene de una familia trabajadora, cu\u00e1l ha apoyado su desarrollo art\u00edstico y profesional desde su ni\u00f1ez. Es graduando de la Escuela Superior Jos\u00e9 Santos Alegr\u00eda, en Dorado, donde se destac\u00f3 en las artes visuales e industriales. Durante el 2017, a sus diecisiete a\u00f1os, tom\u00f3 un curso de Administraci\u00f3n de Empresas en National University College, localizada en Bayam\u00f3n, PR. Reci\u00e9n graduado de la escuela superior comenz\u00f3 a desarrollar su carrera art\u00edstica pintando sobre canvas y dise\u00f1ando murales, mientras trabajaba simult\u00e1neamente en la industria de restaurantes. Actualmente, cursa un bachillerato en Dise\u00f1o Gr\u00e1fico en el Instituto de Banca y Comercio de Bayam\u00f3n, PR.<\/p>\n<p>Johse es un artista emergente, con una direcci\u00f3n clara y est\u00e1 deseoso de continuar desarrollando su carrera pl\u00e1stica. En el 2020, fue seleccionado para participar del Programa de Mentor\u00eda Art\u00edstica del S.E.P, patrocinado por arte_FITS.Foundation, bajo la asesor\u00eda de la artista Sof\u00eda Maldonado, en Dorado. Sus obras se enfocan en diversas tem\u00e1ticas: la naturaleza, la figura humana y la caricatura. Su portafolio demuestra su gran capacidad para dise\u00f1ar e innovar y posee la habilidad de observar sus pensamientos, de forma f\u00edsica, para as\u00ed plasmarlos sobre varios soportes: canvas, papel o en el espacio urbano. La mayor\u00eda de sus murales se encuentran, por el momento, en el pueblo de Dorado, PR. Mediante la pr\u00e1ctica y nuevas oportunidades busca expandir sus horizontes hacia otros pueblos alrededor de la isla.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The artist Sof\u00eda Maldonado created this virtual workshop to develop a proposal for a mural at Sala de Exposiciones del Plata. This workshop was divided into six visual contact classes and continued for three weeks. Each class lasted one hour and was held two times a week. The professor worked 20 hours which included moments in which she carried out evaluations and corrected texts prepared by the apprentice without any direct contact. Class topics included an introduction to the history of muralism and concept development as well as the preparation of a curriculum vitae and an artist statement. The apprentice learned to write a proposal for a mural and received an evaluation of his portfolio.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Johse Salgado Zabaleta is a young Puerto Rican artist who was born in Bayam\u00f3n, but now resides in Dorado where he studied with Myrna Baez. At this moment, he displays great talent for the visual arts: sculpture, drawing, painting, acting, dancing, design, among others. He comes from a hard-working family who has supported his professional and artistic development since childhood. Johse graduated from the Escuela Superior Jos\u00e9 Santos Alegr\u00eda, in Dorado, where he stood out in the visual and industrial arts. During 2017, when he was seventeen, Johse took a Business Management course at National University College in Bayam\u00f3n, PR. He began to develop his artistic career soon after his graduation from high school by painting on canvas and designing murals while simultaneously working in the restaurant industry. He is currently earning a bachelor of arts degree in Graphic Design at the Instituto de Banca y Comercio in Bayam\u00f3n, PR.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Johse Salgado Zabaleta is an emerging artist with a clear direction and an eagerness to continue developing his artistic career. In 2020, he was selected to participate in the S.E.P. &#8216;s Artist Mentorship Program, sponsored by arte_FITS.Foundation, under the tutelage of Sof\u00eda Maldonado, in Dorado. His artwork focuses on different themes: nature, the human figure and cartoons. Johse\u2019s portfolio exhibits his great capacity for design and innovation and his ability to observe his thoughts, in a physical way, to then capture them on various surfaces: canvas, paper or urban spaces. <br>The majority of his murals are found, for the moment, in Dorado, PR.
